Dear Sir The other leaf gives all I know throwing light on the pedigree of Mr Freeman, my new cousin. The Portsmouth family of Wendells come from [underline] Evert Jansen Wendell [/underline] thro'his [underline] oldest grandson Abraham [/underline] (brother of Col. Jacob Wendell) whose grandson [underline] John [/underline] moved to Portsmouth, - after graduating at Harvard 1750, - + arid [sic] at Portsmouth Apl [sic] 26. 1808. Another child of this Abraham was Elizabeth, who married [underline] Edmund Quincy [/underline] + their daughter was Dorothy wife of Gov. John Hancock
